The Cui group currently has openings at all levels. We welcome students from diverse science and engineering backgrounds (e.g., solid mechanics, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering) to join our team.

MASc and PhD students (January/May/September 2026)

In your research statement, please detail your research interests and how they align with our research mission and themes. Graduate scholarships: many internal and external awards are available for domestic and international students.

Undergraduate researchers

We support URA and USRA projects. If you are interested in getting research experience in nanomechanics and energy materials, please feel free to contact Prof. Cui directly.

Postdoctoral researchers

We welcome recent PhD graduates with demonstrated expertise in one of our research themes to apply. Please email Prof. Cui directly with your CV, contact information of two academic references, and a brief research statement included. In your research statement, please detail your research interests and expertise, and how they align with our research mission and themes. Prof. Cui supports postdoc fellowship applications for strong candidates.
